Beauty Buyer Intern

We are looking for a Buyer- Beauty intern based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to develop ZALORA’s Beauty category. The primary focus in this role is to assist in the selection and procurement of beauty products that align with the company's brand and customer needs. This role involves market research, trend analysis, and negotiation with suppliers to ensure the best assortment. The Buyer intern also collaborates with other departments such as marketing and sales to ensure the successful launch and promotion of the selected items.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brand partners
• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
• Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement
• Conduct frequent brand review meetings either on a monthly, quarterly or seasonal basis
• Builds and buys the most relevant range for the target customer
• Ownership of weekly trade within own portfolio, including replenishment, stock swaps, RTS, etc.
• Supports all facets of contract negotiations with new potential brands/ suppliers together with category manager
• Demonstrates an understanding of new beauty trends, and how these can affect the trading climate, regularly reads market research data and spots new business opportunities
• Conducts regular competitor analysis to assess ranges, identify opportunity and direction for brand exclusives, gain ideas for on-line layout and content, brand acquisition opportunities, sales impacting initiatives, etc.
• Manages supplier performance including intake margin, trading margin, sell through, stock turn, delivery, etc.Responsible on managing clusters of brands within a set portfolio in the beauty category
• End to end responsibilities of overseeing brand products go from suppliers to customers in a timely and profitable manner 
• Handling ad hoc projects as required

Requirements:

• Excellent English skills required
• Bachelor in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field
• Experience studying and/or working abroad preferred
• Exposure in the e-commerce industry is preferred
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Exceptional time management skills
• Advance working knowledge of Excel
